Delete your MapSafe account
You can delete your MapSafe account and the personal information attached to it. There are two ways to do it, and the first is immediate.
In the app (immediate)
- Open the MapSafe app and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. You will be signed out and your login destroyed straight away.
Agents and transport companies can do the same from Profile on the web dashboard.
By email
If you cannot sign in — you have lost access to the email address on the account, or the app will not open — email privacy@mapsafe.com.au from the address on the account, or tell us enough to identify it. We will confirm your identity before deleting anything, and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Everything that identifies you personally:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your driver licence number and issuing state
- Your home address and any stored coordinates for it
- Your business details — ABN, ACN, entity type, trust name, business address
- Your compliance documents
- Your device push-notification tokens
- Your login credentials — you will not be able to sign in again
What is kept, and why
We would rather be straight with you about this than promise an erasure we cannot perform.
Records of work you actually did are not solely ours to erase. The agent who paid you, the transport company whose load you escorted, and an insurer assessing an incident all have a legitimate interest in them — and in the case of tax invoices, Australian law requires them to be kept for seven years.
So the following are retained, but anonymised — they no longer carry your name or any other identifier, and cannot be linked back to you:
- Jobs you worked on, and the hours and distance recorded against them
- The GPS trace of a job, which is the evidence behind billing and any incident report
- Invoices issued or received, and their payment status
This is a deliberate choice. A convoy's GPS trace is a shared record of a journey several parties took part in; deleting one participant out of it would destroy the other participants' record of their own work, and in an incident would destroy the evidence.
If you are an agent or a transport company
Deleting an agent account does not delete the pilots in your pool — they hold their own accounts. Jobs you created remain, anonymised, for the people who worked them. If you have unpaid invoices outstanding, settle them first; they are not cancelled by deleting the account.
